Dickey served as a judge on a panel of three veterans for the American Veteran Project. The AVP is an essay scholarship competition whose mission is to encourage young writers through the written word; therefore, teens learn about our history & freedom from those who lived it, America’s soldiers- An ideal which brings us together as Americans. A scholarship to Flight Camp at the Museum of Aviation at Warner Robins, AFB is awarded to the top winner.
Not only did he serve his country with honor and dedication but he continued to serve in the capacity of mentor and friend to our troops and youth. He made an imprint on our history and a difference in the lives of others; for his actions America should be very grateful. I am proud to have known him and will forever appreciate his commitment to the country he loved.
